Outgunned by Over 4,000 Gun Artifacts at the Cody Firearms Museum (Light Over Heat #59)

I just posted the second of three planned videos for my “Light Over Heat” YouTube channel about my recent visit to the Cody Firearms Museum at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming.

Curator Danny Michael (pictured in the video’s thumbnail) was good enough to give me a tour of the museum and I later went back and filmed some additional bits. Last week I covered how the museum’s recent renovations targeted those outside gun culture.

In this week’s video, I very briefly highlight some of the over 4,000 gun artifacts on display in the museum. I barely scratch the surface, but perhaps this whets your appetite to see the museum yourself.

Please excuse the audio. I was filming while the museum was open to the public, so I was trying to speak quietly. To make matters worse, my lav mic was not getting along with my phone that day.

For those who don’t want to watch the video, I wrote more about this aspect of my visit on this blog.

  1. Glad to hear you were able to visit the Cody museum, I saw it over 30 years ago. I have seen the NRA museum several times, and it is also excellent, but the Cody museum is bigger, definitely the best firearms museum I ever saw, and I’ve heard it’s even better now after they re-modeled.
