And in both cases the ‘vocabulary’ is extensive, the range of options considerable. Choice of weapons in the dialogue of violence, like the choice of expletives in an argument, may reflect the depth of antagonism.

The same can be said about the response to violence as well. And might choice of weapon for response to violence reflect commitment to survival?

I like the dialogue analogy because a dialogue has back-and-forth, give-and-take, violence and violent response.
