QOTD: Violence as a Form of Dialogue

In human confrontations, violence, like argument, is a form of dialogue. Words and weapons both serve as means of expression and convey messages. And in both cases the ‘vocabulary’ is extensive, the range of options considerable. Choice of weapons in the dialogue of violence, like the choice of expletives in an argument, may reflect the depth of antagonism.

  1. The same can be said about the response to violence as well. And might choice of weapon for response to violence reflect commitment to survival?
