This is the third and final post in a series about ads that ran on the “Handguns and Defensive Weapons” show on Sportsman’s Channel. I previously looked at an ad for the Walther CCP handgun and the Hornady RAPiD Safe. Here I look at a 15 second advertisement for the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield concealed carry pistol.
Unlike both the Walther CCP and Hornady RAPiD Safe ads, the M&P Shield ad is decidedly gender neutral. Have a look for yourself:
In terms of portraying — and in doing so perhaps also helping to create — an inclusive gun culture in which men and women are equals, this brief ad says alot.
